Peer Mentors Club visited the National Hidden Talents Children’s Home as part of its outreach activities. Currently, the National Hidden Talents Children’s Home houses about 486 single orphaned children from all ages and from all tribes.  The Center also offers education to children in the home. Presently, the Center has volunteer teachers to equip the children with various skills.

The event which occurred on Saturday 12th May, 2018 begun with a brief introduction from the hosts and the visitors. The Director of The Dagoretti Childcare programme gave a brief history of the children’s home, and being a man with strong faith in God, he left his job to start the children’s home after he had a vision from God asking him to save 12 specific tribes in Kenya.

The Director stated that “We have also raised a lot of the current day heroes in different fields,” mentioning world marathon champions Hellen Obiri and Vivian cheruiyot, popular gospel musician Ringtone and renowned Kenyan football star Dennis Oliech as beneficiaries of the home since their tender ages.

Despite immense successes the home has achieved, it still faces a lot of challenges including lack of a consistent donor.
