CBPS secures a grant to the tune of 7million from IRD (international Relief for Development)and the French embassy. The grant was won through a Lecturer attached to SBS , Dr. George .O. Ongamo. The research project titled “incidence of climatic change on agricultural systems in Kenya” will focus on incidence of climate change, an aspect of general global change on agricultural system in Kenya and is set to commence in January 2012.

Dr. Lilian Wambua of the School of Biological Sciences, University of Nairobi has been selected as a 2011 Award Fellow.

AWARD is a professional development program that strenghtnes the research and leadership skills of African women in agricultural science, empowering them to contribute more effectively to poverty alleviation and food security in sub-sharan Africa.

Over 70 successful candidates have been selected from a pool of 785 applicants from 11 countries. AWARD currently has 180 fellows in its program.

MSc.Climate Change is a new interdisciplinary course offered  in the School of Physical Sciences,Department of Meteorology.The Course is open to potential applicants from many areas of specialization.For more information,contact the school of physical sciences,department of Meteorology.


The Google Campus Ambassador Program  is an initiative by Google that recognizes enthusiastic, hard-working and motivated individuals by giving them the opportunity to represent Google on their campus.

The students are:

Prof.B.O. Aduda, Principal, CBPS, receiving an award  from Vice-Chancellor Prof. George Magoha for the Second best overall performance  year 2010/2011. Present  are  Deputy Vice Chancellor  ( A&F) Prof. Peter Mbithi  and other members of staff.

The ICTC website staff and the College ICT team will be going round the College in 3 teams updating content in Schools/Departments.

Units will be assited update information on News and Events.Collaborations/links, Departmental Publications and Students Publications (titles and abstracts),and events Photographs.

Lecturers and staff will be trained on how to update their Profiles-CVs, Publications, Research and Course Materials.
