The University of Nairobi Anti-Drugs and Substance Abuse Campaign (UNADSAC) visited ICACIRI Secondary and Primary schools on 14th February 2019. The UNADSAC visit was led by their patron and CBPS staff members.

During the visit, Mrs Janet Nyaga from University Health Services sensitized the students on drugs and substance abuse as well as HIV/AIDs. Mrs Nyaga advised students on ways of handling serious cases of addiction. Students were also encouraged to focus on their studies and pursue better grades. The club also had several students from the university, motivating the school students to work extra hard in order to achieve academic excellence and also be responsible citizens of the world.

Prof. Mwabora, who was part of the outreach emphasized on discipline which is key to success. He told students to respect their teachers and make them their friends so ease revision and understanding in class.

It’s no doubt that the talks had immense effect on the students who promised us to work hard to attain their targeted grades and join the University for higher learning.

Most of the students showed Interest in the Sciences and they were happy and glad to hear from the University students who made it to do Science courses. It was promising!

The students did express their gratitude and urged the University of Nairobi to continue with mentorship programs to schools such as theirs.
